NORTH: ARMY troops continuing their search and clear operations in the general areas of VISUAMADU, OLUMADU, SUGANDIPURAM, KUPPILANKULAM, and PUTHUKKUDDIYIRUPPU for another day on Wednesday (9) collected thirty-two 9mm pistols, sixteen T-56 weapons, three T-56 magazines, one FNC weapon, two FNC magazines, one T-81 weapon, one 12.7 weapon, three sniper weapons, five .22 weapons, one suicide jacket, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), two 60 mm mortar bombs, ten hand grenades, eighty-eight anti personnel mines, two parts of a Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG), five thousand rounds of General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, one hundred and thirty-four rounds of FNC ammunition, thirty-four empty gas cylinders of 29.5 kg each, one hundred and fifty empty gas cylinders weighing about 13.5 kg each, ninety-six empty gas cylinders of 2.5 kg each, five cans of aircraft oil containing 18.9 ltr each, eight thousand rounds of T-56 ammunition, one 1.5kg claymore mine, four hundred and twenty-five rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, forty rounds of 14.55mm ammunition, one 40mm grenade launcher cartridge, five thousand rounds of 5.56 mm ammunition and six claymore stands on Wednesday (9).
Meanwhile, troops in VAVUNIYA recovered four T-56 magazines during a search operation conducted in NAPANKULAM area on the same day (9).
