300 West Troops Offer Blood to Save Lives

A record 300 Army personnel working under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) on Monday (23) volunteered to give their blood for the benefit of patients during a blood donation arrangement, held at Panagoda Sri Bodhirajaramaya.

The project that coincides with the forthcoming 75th Independence Day got underway following guidelines given by Major General Deepal Pussella, Commander, Security Forces - West in close collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion Centre at Narahenpita.

While the project was on, the West Commander arrived at the location and shared a couple of thoughts with the medical staff and donors awaiting their turn.

Brigadier Admin and Quartering, SF-West, Brigadier General Staff, SF-West, a few Senior Officers and Other Ranks were also present during the arrangement.

300 Army personnel including officers and Other Ranks serving under the SFHQ-West’s under command Divisions, Brigades, Regiments and Battalions voluntarily donated their blood.
