The Inter Battalion Volleyball Tournament of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) was held on Saturday (25) at Harmony Volleyball Court Complex, Mankulam.
36 teams from Sri Lanka Army and Civil Clubs took part in the tournament which commenced on 3 April with the finals on Saturday (25). Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, (SFHQ-KLN) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest who is also the heavyweight behind its organizing.
In the Army Category, 3 Gajaba Regiment (GR) secured the championship while 11 GR became the runners-up.
In the civil category, Thiruveiaru Maththiya Vilayattuk Sports Club turned the champions while Elamparai Sports Club claimed the runners-up shield.
In the women’s Category, Vibulantha Sports Club from Kilinochchi emerged as Champions while 6 Sri Lanka Women’s Corps (SLAWC) became the runners-up.
The Chief Guest gave away trophies and prizes to the winning teams. General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Rankers and a large gathering of civilians attended the event.
