2,912 Confirmed Positive - NOCPCO

As of this morning (1), a total of 2,912 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Two foreigners, 28 Sri Lankan expatriates and 2,882 of those positive cases are locally-identified ones, including the majority 490 from Colombo District, 322 from Gampaha District, 261 from Kandy District and 1,809 from different other Districts, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By this morning (1), a total of 186,363 persons, have been confirmed positive to COVID-19 from all over the country, including the dead. Among them, 89,119 were reported after the New Year.

By Tuesday (1) morning (past 24 hours), 1,915 recovered patients have left care centers. 4 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours. Accordingly, the COVID-19 death toll in the country rises to 1,487 by this morning (1).

By Tuesday (1) morning, 403 persons have left 14 QCs. As of this morning (1), 3,622 persons in 56 hotels and tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine.

By this morning (1) at the time this communiqué was released, the number of isolated areas remains unchanged and movement restrictions that have been enforced would continue.
