Major General H.H.K.S.S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc assumed duties as the 28th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps (SLAWC) following military formalities and religious blessings at the Regimental Headquarters Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps, Borella on 16th January 2025.
Upon his arrival he was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brigadier P.M.S Karunaratne psc to the premises offering him a Guard Turn out and Guard of Honour. Subsequently the Colonel Commandant laid a flower wreath to the War Heroine's Monument.
Then, the Senior Officer placed his signature in a formal document symbolizing the assumption of duties as the Colonel Commandant and addressed the troops. Further, the programme was included an All Rank tea and a briefing with the participation of Staff Officers.
The newly appointed Colonel Commandant presently holding the appointment as the Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College.
