Troops of the 221 Infantry Brigade of the 22 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters-East initiated a project to distribute essential school accessories among students of low-income families learning at Kallarawa St. John’s Primary School and Sagarapura Primary school in Trincomalee on 29 May 2023.
The gesture, sponsored by one Mrs Ameesha Jayakody was conducted on the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General S.B Amunugama RWP RSP ndu. It was conducted under the close supervision of the Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade, Colonel A.K Peiris RSP. 27 packs of essential school accessories, valued at Rs: 2,70,000/= were distributed among 27 children after inviting them to the Kallarawa School.
17 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops made all arrangements in this connection. Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer, 17 SLNG participated in the distribution programme.
