Considering economic difficulties, faced by needy families, 572 Brigade troops with sponsorship, received from a Jaffna philanthropist distributed more than 25 dry ration packs among the poor in Kumarasvamipuram area in Kilinochchi on Monday (28).
Mr Sanjeev Nalin from Jaffna in response to a request, made by the Commander 572 Brigade, Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala contributed to the project. Grama Niladhari of respective GN divisions selected and recommended the needy families for this programme.
The General Officer Commanding, 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, gave necessary guidelines to the Commander 572 Brigade to closely carry out the distribution process.
The Civil Affairs Officer, 572 Brigade and the Commanding Officer, 14 Sri Lanka National Guard participated in the distribution programme, adhering to health protocols.
