Intended to give a helping hand to low-income group families, resident in Majeedpuram village in Samanthurai, Ampara, the 24 Infantry Division HQ on Sunday (12 November) with sponsorship received took steps to donate dry rations packs, each worth Rs. 3,500/= among 65 families after inviting them to the 24 Infantry Division HQ in Ampara.
The free distribution was made possible following the sponsorship, made by Ms. Razard Nuwshard, Chairperson, ‘Wings of Humanity Organization’ and Mr. S.L.M Nasroonthe, Social Work Coordinator for Addalachchenai.
The distribution ceremony, headed by Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division was attended by Grama Sewa officials in Majeedpuram, Samanthurei and state officials.
Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Mr. Sisira Wijesinghe, Army Media Consultant, Ms. Razard Nuwshard, Chairperson, ‘Wings of Humanity Organization’, Mr. S.L.M Nasroonthe, Social Work Coordinator for Addalachchenai and a few others also joined the distribution of those relief packs to the beneficiaries.
