24 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - East arranged a leadership programme for junior prefects at Senarath Somarathne Primary School in Ampara on Thursday (24 Aug) on request following guidelines given by Major General W. Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division.
The programme covered 26 Junior Prefects who are learning in Grades 3, 4 and 5, a departure from the conventional classroom curriculum. Students learnt the value of teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication through interactive activities and group projects.
Further, the programme provided a safe environment for students to express themselves, share their ideas, and participate in discussions, boosting their self-assurance. During the programme, participants were provided with meals and refreshments by the troops.
The General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and the Principal with the Tutorial Staff watched the programme.
