24 Infantry Division on Request Holds ‘Leadership Programme’ for Girls in Two Ampara Schools

24 Infantry Division troops expanding their community-oriented projects further offered a valuable leadership training programme for 90 student girls at Bandaranayake Girls’ School and Damana Maha Vidyalaya in Ampara on Monday (18 Dec) on request of the school authorities.

The training workshop which focused on leadership traits, discipline, etiquettes, decision-making, management, politeness, self-confidence, dignity, effectiveness, patience, socialization, communication, teamwork, etc was conceptualized by Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division in Ampara and aimed at installing basic leadership qualities and grooming responsible citizens in addition to the conventional classroom curriculum.

In addition to the leadership programme, the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division with the objective of enhancing the importance of environment conservation distributed 90 ‘Mee’ saplings among the students attending the leadership programme. During the arrangement, both teachers and students attending the workshop were hosted to refreshments and a lunch treat.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks serving under the 24 Infantry Division, Principals, teachers and minor staff were present during the programme.
