The 24 Infantry Division HQ with the aim of providing amusement and variety to the monotonous duty roles of soldiers serving in the HQ enabled soldiers to take their family members on picnic in the Ampara region and the Eastern province on Thursday (30 June 2023).
A group of 14 soldiers were accordingly facilitated to take their family members and loved ones to see the Muhudu Maha Viharaya at first. Subsequently, all the participants moved to Arugam Bay beach area where they enjoyed playing games and fun-making features. Similarly, all of them tasted delicious snacks and food on the beach, surrounded by the seas.
Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, planned this event and guided the excursion with the aim of strengthening teamwork, relieving the work stress of soldiers, diversion from uniformity, and promoting harmony among troops and their loved ones.
