Under the direction and guidance of Major General H.C.L Galappatthi RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division, the troops of the 24 Infantry Division conducted a distribution programme of essential items for 35 pregnant mothers in the Uhana area on 9th January 2025 at Ruhunugama.
The donation included various maternal and infant care items such as maternity wear, diapers, baby formula, hygiene products, and dry ration packs. The initiative aimed to alleviate the financial burden faced by many pregnant mothers, particularly those in underserved communities.
Mr. Thilina Jayarathne, the Operations Manager of Hemaz Consumer Products (Pvt) Ltd, along with senior management, made a financial contribution to support the initiative. Following the donation, the pregnant mothers and distinguished guests were provided breakfast.
Senior officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
