The farewell ceremony for Major General W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP, the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division, took place on 29 November 2024.
Upon arrival, the GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour.
A group photograph was then taken to commemorate the occasion, and a sapling was planted. Afterward, he addressed the troops, offering reflections on his time in command and expressing gratitude for their hard work and dedication. The day concluded with an All-Ranks tea.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the occasion.
