233 Brigade Troops Assist ‘Katina Pinkama’

Troops serving the 233 Brigade and its under command Battalions of the 23 Division, Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) assisted the conduct of the annual ‘Katina Cheevara’ ceremony at Mailankarachchi temple in Valachchenai.

Bodhi Poojas, Katina Perahera, Pirith chanting and offer of alms to members of the Maha Sangha dominated the programmes that got underway during November 12-13 with the support of the troops. Mr and Mrs Chandrasiri Amarasinghe, devout Buddhists sponsored the arrangements.

Colonel S.J Priyadarshana, 233 Brigade Commander, all officers, other rankers and civilians in the area took part in the arrangements.
