The Civil Affairs Office of the 233 Brigade conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign at the Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya premises on 06 February 2015. 25 members of the 233 Brigade along with 50 school children participated in the community project.
The objective of this campaign was to clean the playground of the school which was covered with wild bushes and garbage.
The campaign was carried out under the directions of Brigadier Nanda Hathurusinghe, Commander, 233 Brigade.
Earlier, the Principal at Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya had contacted the Brigade Commander for assistance in cleaning the playground, prior to the conduct of their annual Sports Meet.
