Troops of the 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment of the 231 Infantry Brigade under command to the 23 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - East at the request of health authorities, refurbished the office of the Public Health Midwife (PHM) at Keviliyamadu, Batticaloa and vested it to the PHM on 07 April.
Mr. Thanoj Biyagama, organizers of ‘‘Api Manussayo’’ foundation and Mr. Nadeera Kahapitiya provided required financial contribution to the project.
Under the guidance of Brigadier W.M.N.K.D Bandara RWP RSP USP psc, Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 11 (v) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment carried out the refurbished work of the office of the Public Health Midwife.
After the end of the day's main event, lunch was provided to pregnant women and mothers and children who participated in the event. At the same occasion, 4 wheelchairs were also donated to 4 physically-handicapped persons in respective surrounding areas.
Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Civil Affairs Officer of the 231 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 11 (V) SLSR, Medical Officer of Health - Padippalai, PHM - Kohobagasthalawa, Troops of 11 (V) SLSR, Pregnant women and mothers and children were present during the event.
