To enlighten the public on COVID-19 symptoms, prevention and precautionary measures, 11 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 231 Brigade of the 23 Division under the Security Force HQ-East conducted a community awareness project in and around Kattankudy town on Friday (7) with the support of Policemen in Kattankudy Police Station.
The project, carried out on the instructions of Major General Nalin Koswatte, General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division was closely coordinated and supervised by Colonel Vijitha Hettiarachchi, Commander, 231 Brigade HQ in order to mitigate the impact of the transmission of the epidemic.
During the same campaign, Policemen arrested 16 persons for not adhering to health guidelines with the help of Army troops.
