On an initiative taken by the Army, Vision Care, Batticaloa donated a 1000 litre plastic water tank for use of Punnakuda Fishing Community and Punyaramaya Temple in Punnakuda on Friday (04) as a welfare project under the Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC) project of the 231 Brigade.
With the intention of facilitating drinking water for more than 200 fishermen, family members and the nearby Punyaramaya temple in Punnakuda, this donation of the water tank was made by the Vision Care, Batticaloa on the request of the Commander, 231 Brigade, Brigadier Vijitha Hettiarachchi.
Officers of the 231 Brigade, Chief Incumbent at Punyaramaya Temple and civilians were present during the donation.
