23 VIR HQ Opens its Officers' New Mess

The newly-constructed Officers' Mess at 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (23 VIR) was declared open by Major General Sisira Pilapitiya, Colonel of the Regiment, VIR and Commander SF-MLT on Friday (9) at the invitation of Lieutenant Colonel A.B.S Athukorala, Commanding Officer 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

Unveiling of a plaque on the Officer’s Mess building marked the inauguration before he addressed the troops and visited the premises in 23 VIR, Mullaittivu. Major General Nishantha Manage, GOC 53 Division, Brigadier Upul Weerakoon GOC 64 Division , Brigade Commanders of 541 and 642 Brigades, few Senior Officers and Other Ranks also attended the brief event.
