23rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) organized a medical clinic for retired, disabled Army personnel and civilians in the Lahugala, Pothuvil, Komari and Urani areas on 16 July at Bodhirukkarama Temple, Panama.
The medical staff of Ampara General Hospital assisted the conduct of the clinic.
In addition, 105 pregnant mothers were given dry food parcels and 50 civilians received spectacles in a separate event, organized by the 23 SLSR troops held on the same day.
