23 Infantry Division Hosts Lecture on Prevention of Violence Against Women

A lecture focused on the prevention of violence against women and its existing legal framework was held at the 23 Infantry Division on 07 August 2024.

The session was conducted by Inspector Police Samudra Nilanthi, Officer in Charge of the Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children & Women at the Valachchenai Police Station. The aim of this programme was to educate the troops on various forms of abuse, including child abuse, violence against women, domestic violence, and the relevant legal statutes.

The lecture was conducted under the guidance of Major General W.P. Kariyawasam, the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division with the participation of 08 Officers and 140 Other Ranks.
