The 23 Infantry Division bade farewell to outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc on 30 April 2024 at 23 Infantry Division premises amidst military traditions.
Upon arrival, troops saluted the outgoing GOC in a Guard Turnout at the entrance before he was accorded a Guard of Honour by the 9 Sri Lanka Artillery troops.
Soon after, he placed his signature in an official document signifying the handing over of his duties at his office. Adding memories to the day, he planted a sapling in the camp premises and group photographs were taken with Officers.
Afterwards, during the All-Ranks lunch, a token of appreciation was presented to outgoing GOC and he addressed the troops and extended his sincere gratitude to the troops for the support extended during his tenure.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Division took part in the event.
