Troops stationed in the East that come under 23 Division often conduct social services to help the public in those areas. Such projects help improve public relations with the troops and the people living in the area.
The Sri Gemunu Pre-school in Sinhapura Mahaweli area that comes under 231 Brigade was cleaned by the troops belonging to 231 Brigade on 05th January 2010.
On the same day (05), troops of 233 Brigade conducted another cleaning project at Madurankulam Vidyalaya situated in the Brigade area.
Troops also cleaned the Mental Hospital in Mavadivembu, that comes under 234 Brigade on 05th January 2010.
