23 Division Headquarters in Poonani under Security Forces Headquarters, East (SFHQ-E) conducted elaborate Vesak arrangements during May 5-8.
The Vesak decoration zone that covered Poonani junction, Batticaloa Gandhi Park, Vakare Pradhesiya Sabha ground and a few other areas included devotional song presentations, huge lanterns and decorations and Dansel (free eating houses).
Hundreds of civilians in those areas viewed those exhibits and shared meals provided in Dansel during those four days. Major General Lal Perera, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters, East at the invitation of Brigadier R.W.W.A.D.B Rajaguru, General Officer Commanding 23 Division attended the opening ceremony of the Poonani Vesak zone.
