23 Div Builds House for a Needy Family

23 Division troops under the Security Force Headquarters-East (SFHQ-E) donated a newly-constructed house for a low-income family at Aselapura on Thursday (12).

The house was constructed under the directions of Major General D.D.U.K. Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division.

Major General N.J. Walgama, Commander, SFHQ-E ceremonially handed over the house to the family during a brief ceremony at the invitation of Major General Hettiarachchi.

The financial assistance for the project was made by a Sri Lankan expatriate in Australia and the labour assistance was provided by troops in the 23 Division.

Meanwhile, troops of 232 Brigade under the 23 Division conducted a ‘Shramadana’ campaign at Kudumbimali Kenegeshwaram Pullayar Kovil on 09 November.

Troops cleaned up the Kovil premises during the ‘Shramadana’ campaign.
