As a part of the ongoing community projects of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), 224 Brigade troops of the 22 Division organized a GCE O/L exam - oriented seminar session for rural students in the area on Wednesday (20) at Pearl Grand Reception Hall in Muttur.
Following guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Brigadier Prasanna Ediriweera, the inauguration of the seminar was attended by the Commander, 224 Brigade as the Chief Guest.
After lighting the traditional oil lamp to mark the opening of the event, a female exam candidate made a welcome speech and thanked the Army for its efforts to improve the knowledge of the students community.
More than 500 plus students participated in the seminar. Mr N Vipulanantha, a popular lecturer educated the attendees on Mathematics.
Further, the Chief Incumbent of Kottiarama Mulamaha Viharaya, Kurukkal at Sampoor Kovil, Priest at the Sacred Heart Church, Moulavis, Senior Officers of 224 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Deputy Director for Muttur Education Zone, President and Secretary of Muttur Cricket Association and President of Muttur Trade Association were among those who were present at the opening of the seminar.
