The 221 Infantry Brigade troops of the 22 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters-East coordinated and organized one more community project to distribute school accessories and equipment to 67 students of the families of Other Ranks who are serving in the Brigade Headquarters.
During the distribution conducted on Sunday (March 12) at the Brigade premises, each child received a pack of school accessories, worth about Rs 3500/=. All ranks in the Brigade and the patronage offered by Germany-based Mrs Nilanthi Joham enabled the distribution of those incentives.
Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayake, Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade, initiated the project as a support to the all ranks and members of the civil staff. Major A.D Gunarathne, Civil Affairs Officer, 221 Infantry Brigade closely supervised the project.
