The 221 Infantry Brigade HQ in celebrated its 13th Anniversary day by conducting a series of events during 12-17 March at the Brigade Headquarters in Trincomalee under the guidance of Brigadier Sujeewa Rathnayake, Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade.
As the first segment, the Brigade commander and all Ranks of the Brigade on 13 March, conducted a ‘Bodhi Puja’ at Gookanna Raja Maha Viharaya in Trincomalee and offered ‘Heel Danaya’ (breakfast) to members of the ‘Maha sangha', the following day. In the same evening, religious observances were conducted at Koneshvaram Kovil and Gal Church in Trincomaleee.
The programme's main event on the anniversary day was conducted on 16 March 2023 which included a ceremonial Guard Turnout, presented to the Commander, 221 Infantry Brigade on arrival.
Afterwards, the Brigade Commander planted a sapling in the Brigade premises and joined an All Rank lunch where he interacted with the Brigade staff and soldiers.
