The finals of the 22 Infantry Division Volleyball Challenge Trophy - 2023 got underway at the Sri Lanka Artillery Volleyball Court in Seenipura, Kantale on Tuesday (10 Oct).
Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division as the Chief Guest attended the final awarding ceremony.
The Volleyball teams, inclusive of 6 Sri Lanka Armored Corps, 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 20 Gajaba Regiment, 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiments of Sri Lanka Army attached to 221, 222 and 223 Infantry Brigades of 22 Infantry Division played in the tournament for 3 days.
Finally, players of the 5 (V) Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery won the Championship of 22 Infantry Division Volleyball Championship Trophy - 2023 defeating 6 Sri Lanka Armored Corps by 3-2.
The finals of the tournament were witnessed by Brigadier K.K.S Perakum RWP RSP, Deputy General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Brigadier N.S.S Dias RSP, Brigade Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade and many other Seniors Officers took part of the event.
