The 22 Infantry Division celebrated the Vesak Festival 2024 symbolizing religious harmony under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc on Vesak Poya day (23 May 2024).
Conceding with the Vesak Festival, the troops of 22 Infantry Division organized a Rice Dansals at 22 Infantry Division for 10000 devotees, Seruwawila Raja Maha Viharaya for 5500 devotees, and Thambalagamuwa for 8000 devotees. Financial benefactors for the entire programme were coordinated by the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division.
The events were supervised by all Brigade Commanders and organized by all staff of 22 Infantry Division, 15 SLLI, and 9 VIR battalions.
Mr. Chaminda Hettiarachchi Government Agent Trincomalee participated in the event as the Chief Guest for the Dansala organized at HQ 22 Infantry Division Trincomalee and the Brigade Commanders of 221, 222, 223 Infantry Brigades, All the Commanding Officers, All Officers and Other Rankers of 22 Infantry Division were participated in this charity.
