With the noble objective of assisting the children of under privileged families readying for the forthcoming Grade 5 scholarship examination, representatives of the Colombo Royal College Old Boys’ Association and the Alumni Association at University of Sri Jayawardenapura at the request of the 22 Infantry Division Headquarters in Trincomalee sponsored the supply of target question papers and past examination question papers among 1555 students on 18 Sep 2023.
Under the programme, those study packs with model questions (Part 1 and 2) were distributed among students in Jayanthiwewa Primary College in Padavi Sripura Division, students in Seenipura, Kantale schools, Medawachchiya Maha Vidyalaya and Morawewa Vidyalaya through the coordination of 221, 222 and 223 Infantry Brigades, 20 Gajaba Regiment, 5 (V) Sri Lanka Artillery, 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (RFT) troops, after taking those stocks to respective schools.
The project was launched following instructions given by Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndc, General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division in coordination with Brigade Commanders of 221, 222 and 223 Infantry Brigades and the Civil Affairs Officer of the 22 Infantry Division.
The programme was carried out under the theme, ‘Pahata Pahak’ (Five for Five) with the sponsorship given by those aforesaid philanthropists. Each student received five model and five past question papers in the pack.
