22 Individuals on Their Way Back Home After Full Recovery - NOCPCO

As of this morning (18), five expatriates were confirmed positive to COVID-19. They are from UAE, Qatar, Madagascar, Oman, who were in quarantine at Hotel Blue Water, Hotel Jetwing Blue, Hotel Dolphin, Service Training School Gannoruwa and Training School Kundasale QCs, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (18), the total number of detainees in quarantine at Kandakadu and Senapura Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres for Drug Addicts stands at 649. Of them, 528 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight EK 648 from Dubai with 22 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Doha Qatar with 52 passengers, the flight UL 455 from Japan with 30 passengers and the flight UL 607 from Australia with 7 passengers arrived in Sri Lanka this morning (18). All of them were to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (18), 320 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 01 person from Mihinthale QC, 62 from SLAF Palali QC, 08 from SLAF QC MLT, 41 from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 58 persons from Biyagama Village QC, 61 from Dickwella Resort QC, 25 from Fesco Villa Sigiriya QC, 52 persons from Sigiriya Village QC, 05 persons from Ayurveda QC Rajagiriya and 07 persons from Mandara Resort Mirissa QC.

Likewise, 42,582 individuals by this morning (18) have been sent back home after quarantining. 5895 persons in 59 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (17), 1640 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 262,378.

Meanwhile, 22 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (18). All of them are expatriates. Accordingly, 638 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 11 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. Since no positive cases have been reported from society other than those arriving from overseas, all Sri Lankans are urged to continue their health practices and help prevention of its transmission as per instructions given by health authorities.
