22 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ - East (SFHQ-E) in Trincomalee arranged a valuable educational session, themed ‘Noya Yuthu Then’ ( Places Not Permitted) for school students and troops in the area with the intention of creating a better future for students while educating them on the crucial and harsh lives that one has to undergo if one were to be imprisoned
Accordingly, more than 600 school students of Kanthale Central Collage, Agrabaodhi National School and Ganthalawa Maha Vidyalaya on Wednesday (July 05) listened to the lecture in the morning hours at the Kantale Town Hall and the same lecture was delivered to 20 Officers and 350 Other Ranks of the 22 Infantry Division and its under-command Brigades and Battalions at the same location in the same evening (5).
Both sessions were delivered by Senior Superintendent of Prisons Mr Jagath Chandana Weerasinghe, and Assistant Superintendent of Prison (Rehabilitation) Mr Jayantha Saman Adasuriya with the intention of preventing the young generation from illegal activities. During the lecture, life under imprisonment was well explained.
The valuable programmes were arranged according to a concept of Major General U.D Wijesekera RWP RSP USP rcds psc, Commander, SF-E and under the guidance of Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division and Brigadier N.S.S Dias, Commander of the 222 Infantry Brigade. Lieutenant Colonel W.W.M.P.B Wekadapola USP psc IG, Commanding Officer of 5 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment supervised the necessary arrangements.
