After assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 22 Infantry Division, Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc made his first visits to the 221 Infantry Brigade, 222 Infantry Brigade, 223 Infantry Brigade and under-command Battalions on 7, 9 and 13 December 2023 respectively.
The visits were done with the intention of familiarizing with the Division’s areas of responsibility and the deployment of under-command Brigades and Battalions. The General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, was warmly welcomed at each headquarters by respective Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and the staff.
During separate troop addresses, the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, highlighted the importance of discipline and provision of welfare facilities.
