The popular pre-school run by ‘Vijitha’ Sarvodaya self-help organization in Vijithapura, Trincomalee for the benefit of kids in low-income group families recently received a complete set of public address system that can be used for various purposes in the pre-school.
The pre-school that conducts multiple projects like children’s sports events, educational and cultural programmes, religious observances, meetings, etc was all this time compelled to hire those technical equipment from the private sector at exorbitant cost and found it not any longer possible.
After the need was brought to the notice of Brigadier Darshana Hettiarachchi, General Officer Commanding 22 Division, troops and senior officers jumped into action and canvassed support from various sources at private level. Within a few days, their attempts bore fruits and necessary support came forward.
Those troops got down two horns (speakers of 18 w), one amplifier and two transformers from well-wishers and finally donated them to the organization’s board of members, responsible for conduct of the pre-school during a brief ceremony on Tuesday (22).
Brigadier D Hettiarachchi and several senior officers attended the occasion.
