22 Division troops in Trincomalee launched a Dengue Prevention Programme at Primary Treatment Units at Kuchchaweli Hospital and Morawewa Hospitals on Saturday (15) at the request of hospital authorities.
General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Channa Weerasooriya initiated this programme and Commander 221 Brigade, Brigadier Priyantha Kariyawasam and Commander 223 Brigade, Brigadier Shantha Perera coordinated the projects as community service ones.
Troops belonging to 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and 6 Vijayaba Infantry Regiment carried out the cleaning of entire hospital premises, including surroundings to clear all possible mosquito breeding places. The programmes were highly appreciated by Medical Officers in - Charge of Kuchchaweli Hospital and Morawewa Hospital. short url link | Nike
