213 More New Recruits Trained at Paranthan by 9 SLSR Troops Pass Out

The first batch of 213 new recruits, trained at the 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment camp of the 57 Division in the Course No-1 who completed the four-month-long successful training at Paranthan under the close supervision and the direction of the 57 Division and the 571 Brigade passed out on Wednesday (01) during a simple ceremony that followed strict health guidelines.

Those new recruits belong to the Commando Regiment (CR), Special Forces (SF) Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP), Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC), Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME).

Lieutenant Colonel L.G Epa, Commanding Officer, 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment graced the passing out event as the Chief Guest and delivered the closing address, in which he emphasized the soldiers’ responsibilities and importance of maintaining high standards of discipline and performance of duties since the armed forces are the strong pillars of a nation and human security.

Recruit J.P.N.C Samarasooriya of the SLEME received the award for the Best Shooter, Recruit U.S Kumara of the SLEME, the award for the Best in Physical Fitness and the Recruit H.P.K.G.S Umayanga of the SLCMP carried away the award for the Best in Recruit. They accepted those awards from the day's Chief Guest. Officer instructors, instructors, and administrative staff members participated in the day’s ceremony, adhering to stipulated health guidelines.

No relatives or friends of those new recruits were invited to the Passing out Parade due to prevailing health concerns.
