The 211 Infantry Brigade based in Welioya celebrated its 39th Anniversary on 11 November 2023 under the guidance of the Commander, 211 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier I.N Kandanaarachchi RSP.
On account of the anniversary, the 211 Infantry Brigade held a ‘Milk Rice Dansela’ around the Ruwanweli Maha Seya premises on Tuesday (7 November) where more than 1000 pilgrims enjoyed the free treat.
On the anniversary day (11), in accordance with military traditions, 211 Infantry Brigade troops presented a Guard Turnout salute to their Brigade Commander on his arrival at the camp premises.
Afterwards, the Brigade Commander was invited to plant a mango sapling in front of the Brigade office complex and a subsequent and photo session plus and an All-Rank lunch followed. A musical evening brought the anniversary event to an end.
All Officers and Other Ranks of the Brigade, Commanding Officers of the under-command units and Officers in Charge were also associated with the anniversary programme.
