The Army-built and the Medwachchiya Divisional Secretariat funded new house in Angunochchiya, Medawachchiya was formally warmed and vested in the underprivileged family of Mrs. R Kumuduni Sriyani Rathnapala in Angunochchiya, Medawachchiya on 20 June 2022 during a simple ceremony, attended by Brigadier Nishshanka Eriyagama, General Officer Commanding, 21 Division and Brigadier Chaminda Wijayarathna, Commander, 211 Brigade.
2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops of the 211 Brigade as per directions of the Brigade Commander built this new house in consultation with the Divisional Secretariat which sponsored the cost of the project.
Mrs M C Mallawaarachchi at Divisional Secretariat office at Medawachchiya coordinated the funds for the project.
Commander, 211 Brigade, Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the warming ceremony with state officials.
Corps of 2 Engineer Service Regiment provided technical and engineering expertise to the project.
