The 21 Division’s new General Officer Commanding (GOC), Major General H.L.V.M Liyanage took over duties on Monday (2) at the 21 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) in Galkulama, Anuradhapura.
A formal Guard Turnout saluted the new GOC upon his arrival at the Division Headquarters premises in Galkulama 'Ranasewapura' in Anuradhapura in keeping with military traditions. Afterwards, amid religious blessings, he left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office.
Later, he was invited to plant a Mango sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory. After a while, he addressed all ranks and set out his vision for conduct of duties and roles in the 21 Division.
Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving under the 21 Division were associated with the occasion.
