21 Division & SFHQ-W Launch More & More Civil-Oriented Projects

Continuing with the social welfare projects, initiated by the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), 21 Division Headquarters under command to the SFHQ-W in Anuradhapura provided medical screening for over 500 needy people and free spectacles and artificial limbs during a medical camp organized at the Anuradhapura Youth Centre conference hall on Sunday (8).

The project, launched with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni, Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri, got to a start after a brief inaugural ceremony, which was attended by Major General Vikum Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 21 Division HQ as the Chief Guest.

Colombo Rotary Club and ‘Asarana Sarana Society’ of Colombo jointly sponsored the project at the request of the 21 Division HQ. The social welfare project was attended by Director, Rotary Club, Anuradhapura, Director, Provincial Health Services, Dr Palitha Bandara, Commander, 212 Brigade, Colonel Anil Peiris, Commander, 213 Brigade, Colonel Rasika Kumara, Civil Affairs Officer, 21 Division, Officers and Other Ranks of 21 Division, beneficiaries and civilians.

Meanwhile, SFHQ-W on Monday (9) organized a free distribution of spectacles and conduct of a mobile health clinic at the SFHQ auditorium for the benefit of poor civilians. More than 250 civilians underwent complete medical examinations / check-ups during this mobile clinic, inaugurated by Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni as the Chief Guest, together with the SFHQ-W Civil Affairs Officer, senior officers in Divisions and Brigades under command to the SFHQ-W.
