Over 300 visually-impaired civilians in Anuradhapura and its suburbs were benefited following an initiative taken by the 21 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) for distribution of much-needed reading spectacles on Thursday (15).
As a result of the financial sponsorship, extended by Vidya Shivaloganadhan Fund through coordination of the veteran silver screen idol, Mrs Suwineetha Weerasinghe and Mr Nandalal Malagoda, the project was made possible following arrangements, put in place by Major General Kumar Jayapathirana, General Officer Commanding, 21 Division.
Following coordination of the 21 Division HQ Civil Affairs Office, the distribution of those spectacles got underway at the 21 Division HQ premises after it was inaugurated by the GOC, 21 Division in a simple ceremony.
