Troops of 2 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment launched a search and rescue operation to trace missing couple in Hanthana mountain range on 06 April 2024 under the guidance of Major General S.R.B Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander, Security Forces - Central.
As soon as the troops received the message in the afternoon of the same day, they acted promptly and were able to trace the missing couple before the dawn of the following day.
A search team comprising two Officers and five Other Ranks, participated in the operation under the supervision of the Commander, 111 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of 2 (V) SLSR.
