Troops of 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) under command to the 144 Brigade of the 14 Division under the Security Force HQ-West in a mock exercise on Tuesday (7) rehearsed evacuation, search and rescue operation techniques in the event of any flooding of the Kelani river due to overflowing .
During this training session, troops learnt strategic approaches, practical modes of communication, rescue, evacuation to safe places, food and medicine distribution, etc.
This session was conducted on the direction of Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commander Security Forces - West, Major General Crishantha Gnanarathna, General Officer Commanding, 14 Division by Colonel Vindana Kodithuwakku, Commander, 144 Brigade, together with the Commanding Officer 2(V) SLLI Lieutenant Colonel W.M.S Kumara by adhering to health guidelines.
