The Ampara-based Combat Training School (CTS) which grooms soldiers as competent instructors in the Army through the 'Method of Instructions Course' recently qualified a batch of 191 more soldiers as Instructors and awarded certificates to them on Thursday (8 December).
The CTS as per guidelines given by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army increased the numbers, absorbed to train as Instructors with the intention of improving the professional standards of the soldiers who would subsequently conduct different ground level courses for new recruits and fellow-soldiers.
The Method of Instruction Course - No 61, conducted for a period of 18 days started on 21 November and ended on 08 December. The certificate awarding ceremony with the closing address of Brigadier Ruwan Munipura, Commandant, CTS - Ampara took place on Thursday (Dec 08) in the presence of Senior Instructors and CTS Officers.
The following soldier received commendation having achieved the highest aggregate and by becoming the first in order of merit among 191 Course attendees. He was awarded a trophy and a separate special certificate at the awarding ceremony:
