The new Battalion Headquarters office complex of the Mulankavil-based 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) camp, constructed with the dedicated support of all Officers and Other Ranks in the battalion under the guidance and supervision of the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel A.T.L Senevirathne was vested in the troops on Friday (17) by Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku, Colonel of the Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry and Commander Security Forces - Jaffna.
The simple inauguration ceremony followed the lighting of the auspicious oil lamp, planting a symbolic sapling, group photographs and a troop address. A memento was also presented by the Commanding officer as a symbol of memory to the day’s Chief Guest, Colonel of the Regiment.
The event was held adhering to stipulated health guidelines.
