3 Commando Regiment (CR) troops on patrol in the general area of Mundumurippu, Mankulam apprehended two suspects with 19 illicitly felled satinwood trees along with 3 chainsaws at about 10.20 a.m. on Friday (22).
This detection of 19 logs was reported just two days often 20 SLLI troops detected two more suspects from the Periyamadu area suspect with three satinwood logs and one chainsaw.
Under the directions of the Commanding Officer at 3 CR, troops handed over suspects, logs and 3 chainsaws to the Mankulam Forest Office for further investigations.
