An Elle tournament, organized by Forward Maintenance Area (FMA), among 31 teams of all Army formations serving the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-(MLT)) got underway recently for three consecutive days at the FMA playground.
18th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) team after beating their rival, 23rd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) by 7 points emerged victorious at the finals.
Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, (SFHQ-(MLT)) as the Chief Guest, attended the final tussle, together with General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Unit Commanders and a gathering of officers and other ranks.
Lance Corporal W.A.M Priyadarshana of 23rd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), Corporal W.D Priyarathna of 23rd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) and Private W.M Ekanayaka of 18th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), who shone during the final rounds of the tournament, carried away merit certificates and trophies.
The Chief Guest awarded trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up in the tournament.
