In response to a request from the Disaster Management Centre in Monaragala, troops of the 18th Battalion Gemunu Watch (18 GW), together with farmers from Karagahawela Village, successfully prevented the erosion of the Alawaththa Kumbura Tank bund in Bibila on 26th January 2025.
The tank bund, which sustained minor damage, was promptly repaired under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division.
