17 More Expatriates in QCs Confirmed Positive - NOCPCO

17 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (31). Those 17 expatriates were from Maldives (3) at Koggala Beach QC, UAE (10) at Poonani Batticaloa University QC, 02 from UAE (01) at Nuwara Eliya Araliya Green City QC and (01) at Rantembe QC and 02 from India at Colombo Cinnamon Red Hotel. By 6.00 am this morning (31), the total detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 400 passengers, the flight 6E 9034 from Chennai with 29 passengers and the flight 6E 9111 from Chennai with 18 passengers arrived in Colombo this morning (31) and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.

Within the day (31), 73 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 04 persons are from Boossa QC, 37 persons from Galkanda QC, 11 persons from Club Dolphin Hotel QC, 04 persons from Mt Lavinia Hotel QC, 04 persons from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, and 13 persons from Hotel Jetwing C Hotel QC.

Likewise, 35, 097 individuals have been sent back home after quarantining by this morning (31). 6,901 persons in 67 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (29), 1610 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 223,982.

Meanwhile, 11 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (30). Eight of them were expatriates in quarantine and other 03 individuals were found to have associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts. Accordingly, 619 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.
